I setup an XP Pro LAN client with remote desktop enabled - listening on port 3391. I then setup ISA server Protocol Definition - for Inbound 3391, Published Inbound 3391 - pointing to the IP address of the LAN Client (10.0.0.12, static). I can connect to the client on port 3391 from the ISA server itself, but from the outside (like from home) - I cannot get a connection. I do successfully get to the ISA server and then I can connect to the client by establishing another terminal session from there. I would like to avoid having to go through that extra step. Am I doing something wrong?

Why not use a Client VPN solution. Then your connection from home would be just like at work.

VPN is a good ides, but I need remote control for other reasons than simply connecting to data.

Actually once you establish the VPN you can then use XP to take remote control the way you would if you were in the office. I am not sure what limitations you have run into with VPN, but I have found very few. I use both PCanywhere, Terminal Services and XP to manage computers in the office remotely.

Am I missing something in your post?? [Roll Eyes]

Have you thought about adding a static route on the ISA Server, pointing to that particular IP address?? I am not sure if that is the problem that you are running into....In RRAS, you can add routes to the routing table.....

Hope this helps

Brad
