Guys!
yesterday evening I spent almost 4,5 hrs talking with MS's tech support...

The whole reserach area was:

1. 4.4.7 NDR
2. Some mails not going to some domains like hotmail etc
3. Catogorizer stopping the process...

Believe it or not.....it was not ISA 2004 issue, it was not Exchange 2000 or 2003 issue; indeed it was the Anti Virus AVI's causing these whole lot of stuffs.....

Trust me.....if you get any non delivery mail, 4.4.7 bouced back ndr, mail not passing thru.....the first thing you do is : Disable Anti Virus ( the file system one : Version 9 from Symantec - as an example ) ......everything will work.....

I'm hoping that new AVI's will be released for Developers very soon, whole Categorizer engine will be in place in next version of exchange....

After doing intial research in google, I realized that there were many people and many cases where these problems were happening....so I took decesion and gave a decent call to MS...

No mail to hotmail, no mail to MSN - I don't think we need direct access here.....from ISA....

Another very short clue found was if exchange is loaded with anti spam and file system virus protection , it is better to restart both of these once the system comes back on-line....there might be some timing issues as well...

Anyway, we all learn....and try to do the best...
God Bless and God Bless to Tonight's Speech...

Hi Uju,

Great! It is very good news to hear that it wasn't the ISA firewall at fault!

Thanks!
Tom

Was the problem the result of AV running on Exchange? Or ISA?
