This is one of the very good part of ISA 2004 SE and Widnows 2003. After joining the domain, the browsing stuffs of Domains is Disabled in ISA....don't ask me why.....But it is good......
This happens after joining the ISA to domain.
thx

Hey guys,
Not sure exactly what you're referring to. What is it that you cannot do?
Thanks! Tom

very simply, joined the ISA to domain, double click networking places, windows networking, saw the domain but once double click the domain, the problem comes in.
netbios, dns, wins, everything works perfect, but not the browsing from ISA 2003 in Windows 2003 AD server.

for browsing ( find in the active directory ) you need to allow GC traffic from your client to your domain controller(s). Look for 'denied' packets in the monitor logging.

Same here. After trading mail w/ tom I was told this is by design and is a good thing. Not sure why, but I'll take his word for it.

Hey guys,
Exactly. Why would you want to use the dreaded browser service from the ISA firewall? If you need to connect to resources, use a UNC path.

I have the same problem too. I don't care about browsing the network but the problem I have is that it doesn't talk to the active directory anymore. How can I get it to see the Active directory server so it can authenticate users again.
Thanks

acemcgee,
You'll need to create an access rule between Local Host and Internal for the LDAP protocol for Active Directory.
