I have installed isa 2006 standar and everything works fine but a few weeks ago my antivirus (avg) can't update i do a live logging and the error was the follow

log type: web proxy(foward)
status: 12209 the isa server requires authorization to furfill the request. access to the web proxy filter is denied.
source: internal (10.2.137.140)
destination: external (10.2.137.2:8080)

The user is a administrator of the site so he's in a rule of total access, can understand why .??? :S

i tried to installed another antivirus and the result was the same won't update. Anybody can help me please?

Hi,

are applying this rule to all users or just for a set of authenticated users?

BTW, is not because the user is administrator that he have full access to external network, you need to explicit it on ISA.

i have a domain and i created a diferente group user access level in the AD, so only authenticated users can access to the www...

btw..? ?? sorry but what is it..?

@Heriberto,

one more question, is your ISA requiring for all users to authenticate? If so, thats the reason why ISA can�t update. How�s your access rule?

PS: You don�t need to select "Require all users to authenticate" to apply a access rule only authenticated users. If you do that, you�re saying to ISA require authentication to all traffic and block all unauthenticated traffic.
Create a rule that applies only to your group user access level.

let my put the hole picture of my net

1 server ----- win2k3 domain
1 server -----win2k3 isa 2006 std

In my domain i've several group such (web access, total access, mail access) then in isa i create the rules web access, total access, mail acess i don't use the option "requieres to all users to authenticate"

in the rule that can't update is this

total access \ allow\ all outbound traffic \ internal \ external \ total access group

i hope this information helps
