We currently have a Windows 2003 network with about 30 users. We have an exchange server which also serves as our domain controller, a SQL server, an application server, and an ISA 2000 running on a windows 2000 server. I am trying to install ISA Server 2004 standard on a separate computer using Windows server 2003 standatd and test it in my own office using my own workstation as the test "accesser". I only have some basic server experience, mostly by following step by step instructions. I would like to know the following.
can i set up a test system as described above and expect it to work if I follow basic ISA 2004 installation instructions.
what should i familiarize myself with in order to trouble shoot the installation or before i scrap it and start again. In my first attempt, my test workstation cannot establish a connection with the ISA 2004 server. I have followed the installation guide and am not sure i am doing things correctly (like DNS and DHCP setup) I believe i need to learn what type of connection (SECURE NAT, WEB PROXY-etc i have. I have not set up the firewall client on my test workstation.

any direction i could get would be appreciated as i do not know enough to answer basic questions
thank you in advance
