we had isa2k sp2 running on windows 2000 sp4, we had 8 users remote desktop out to the internet, the users were able to leave the remote desktop windows open or minimized for about 30 mins to an hour, before being licked out. the terminal server admin on the other end says the time out period is 3hrs. but 30 mins to an hour is exceptable to the 8 users.

i recently rebuilt the same server(hardware) to windows 2003, i used the isaexport.vbs file to create the same settings after reinstalling isa2k sp2, all is looking well, except when the user remote desktop to the internet they are immidiatelt disconected after 1-5 mins id there is no visual connectivity from the remote desktop. i had the terminal server admin create me a user account, so i logged in from my desk, i ping the remote servers ip 127.0.0.1 -t, and the dos window was visible, the remote desktop connection stayed open all night long, when i minimized the remote desktop window and the dos windows was no longer visible, i was disconnected within 5 mins.

we have another isa that still had win2k sp4 and isak2 sp2, so i rerouted them to that isa and they havent been kicked out, so its obvious that win2k3 sp1 is killing the RDP connection pre-maturely. i even built a test isa2k sp2 with windows 2003 sp1 i have full admin privs on the box and can visit any site with no restrictions, i setup my firewall client to point to the test isa and the RDP connection was killed again.
