I have the following problem: When I use mIRC I can connect to any IRC server but when I try to make a DCC connection to get a file, I cant establish a connection.
In ISA Server I have created a protocol definition (TCP, outbound) allowing a certain port (refferenced as ???? from now on), I have created a protocol rule allowing that protocol and I have created also 2 packet filters (one for outbound traffic, one for inbound traffic).
I have install Firewall client in my PC.
In Client Configuration, Application Settings I have added ("mirc, localtcpbind, ????,6667", "mirc, remotetcpbind, ????,6667", "mirc, localudpbind, ????,6667", mirc, remoteudpbind, ????,6667".
After all this things I still can't establish a DCC connection...
this is all u need for DCC SEND, DCC GET, and IDENT when using mirc [mirc32] ServerBindTcpPorts=113,1025-5000 NameResolutionForLocalHost=P [mirc] ServerBindTcpPorts=113,1025-5000 NameResolutionForLocalHost=P
Although I tried what HJB417 told me to set in application settings in FW Client Configuration I stil can establish a DCC connection with mirc. Problem remains...
I have tried both updating the FW client and reinstalling it. Nothing. The question is: is only those application settings in FW client configuration the only ones needed or should I make a protocol definition with primiry connection TCP outbound 6667 and a secondary (UDP or TCP I dont know, ports 1025-5000) and then a protocol rule allowing it. I know it maybe annoying answering the same things but its been one month that i 've been trying to enable DCC transfers and nothing has been done. Thanx anyway.
I never had to add or modify protocol rule definitions. I did create an "All Access" protocol rule. You don't need a protocol rule for mirc because the firewall client can handle the connecting to the IRC server. Also, how did you enter the firewall client settings? Did you use the MMC or did u do something else like manually edit the mspclnt.ini file?
The FW client application settings were accessed through the MMC. In the Application Settings window I added the parameters you said, then I restarted the ISA server service, updated the FW client but nothing happend. Should I retry editing the ini file manualy?
na, you shouldn't need to. Next time your on irc join a gamesnet or efnet server and msg me. I gotta see this for myself. My name is bastardizer on gamesnet and |Artanis| on efnet.
