Now that microsoft has pulled Java from their site, we have been forced to use Sun's. However any site that uses Java always prompts the user with an ntlm box, and no matter what credentials they put in it doesn't work. this is even true for me, the Domain admin, who has access to all protocols. I have read everything I can find about Java on this site, and other than manually adding every site on the internet that uses Java to the bypass proxy list(not possible), does anyone know a fix?

they must use the format "domain\username" and their standard password.

This works on ours, but only with the latest version of sun's java.

I finally got it working like that with the domain admin account(has full access to IP) but won't work with a user who has just http/https and ftp only. Any idea what port needs to be open?

I am having the same problem and would really love to know the answer. All I can figure from posts is that you can possibly enter something into deployment.properites file.(maybe) Come on please someone with ISA and java must have cracked this.

So much for Java being the best thing.

If you have WinXP SP1 you can use the "Set Program Access defaults" wizard to "Enable" Microsoft's VM as it still ships as part of SP1.
