I am trying to get Juno email to work behind an ISA server. The email works fine behind our Linksys DSL router. My configuration also works OK for retrieving/sending mail to a Qwest.net POP3 email server.

The Web browsing functions work OK. I completely opened up the Protocol Filter Rules and the Packet Filter rules in both directions, but that did not help. I did a data capture and saw that the DNS query to Juno was completing OK. It then sent several TCP packets to Juno but no responses were received.

Hi K,

Are you not able to send mail (SMTP) or receive mail (POP3)?

Thanks!
Tom

I can send and receive mail OK via a Qwest.net POP3 mail server. It appears that I can authenticate OK with Juno, but it hangs when trying to connect to the mail servers and eventually times out after about 30 seconds.

I was able to resolve the problem. Juno uses port 1794 for their email system. I built a protocol definition for port 1794. I then built an outgoing protocol filter for port 1794.
