Failed 227 today, obviously didn't study enough! Must try harder next time!, some of these so-called prep exam software vendors fall along way short of test preparation for the exam
I certainly thought it was - Used MS ISA book, Osbornes book with the Cert Trainer -(very poor software - only bought that because of the software), Preplogic exam prep, OK but didn't go deep enough into the objectives, unfortunately could only set up a ISA server with no clients and no Internet access, will have to do that for the next prep, to play with it through VPN's and everything else
The best thing you can do is get yourself VMware. You can download an eval version that will work for 30 days, but you might even want to buy it, becasue it'll help you study for other exams, and model scenarios for your live projects. You can set up several VMs and create VPN servers, VPN gateways, caching arrays, everything!
And make sure to ask questions here if something isn't clear to you.
Thanks for that Tom, I am complentating actually going back and doing the 215 server exam - then that will give me more background to vpn's ras and even some more tcp/ip then once I master that hopefully it will slot into place easier for the ISA. Where can you get hold of the VMware? never used that before
Yes, the new book as a 30 day trial version that you can use to test the scenarios discussed in the book.
Studying for the 70-216 exam will help a lot with ISA Server. You can use the information to help understand the network infrastructure requirements and VPN/RRAS setups as well as routing issues.
