Is there another way to have a web session active without using the Proxy Server settings in the IE LAN settings? I don't want to force my mobile users to change their setting everytime they come to the office.
use Automatic Configuration in IE. You can do it with DHCP or DNS. I prefer the DNS method.

WPAD is the automatic configuration functionality that both P2 and ISA provide. With a solid WPAD deployment, your clients "just get it" and you don't have to configure anything for them. Caveats: 1. browser auto-config only works for IE5+ 2. it's heavily name-resolution-dependent; either WINS or DNS (I prefer DNS, personally)
It works thusly: (DHCP) DHCP client makes a DHCP "Inform" request DHCP server responds with DHCP "Ack" that includes the option 252 settings you made DHCP client now knows who and how to ask for proxy / firewall settings (DNS or WINS) browser client makes a call to http://wpad:80/wpad.dat fw client makes a call to http://wpad:80/wspad.dat in both cases, name resolution gives them the IP of the ISA server, from which all good things flow
