I have ISA set to accept VPN clients. I am using IAS for RADIUS and VPN clients are assigned with DHCP. When I do an ipconfig /all from a VPN client the config is different than my LAN clients. For one, the subnet mask of the LAN is 255.255.255.0 and VPN is 255.255.255.255. Why? Is this correct? And the default gateway on the LAN is 192.168.1.1, but the VPN client shows 192.168.1.102 (The IP assigned by DHCP to the VPN client). My LAN and DHCP use 192.168.1.1 -192.168.1.254. For the LAN, I statically assign IP's (just a preference) and VPN / DHCP clients, I have a range 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.200 set as a scope. I am not sure if this is correct. Please help...

Thanks.

Hi Kevin,

That's how it supposed to work. Check out www.microsoft.com/vpn for details.

HTH,
Tom

Any reason why I am asked for a user/password when trying to access a network resource? I am connecting over VPN with a valid account and domain.

Hi Skip,

Good points. Also, you can get around these problems by logging on via dial-up networking.

Thanks!
Tom
