palindroem -> Remote BDC netbios conflict after VPN (9.Jun.2003 1:40:00 PM)

I am implementing a ISA at my networks edge (between my Internet router and my core LAN router). I have a remote BDC (completely different physical and logical network) that I am using a VPN to allow it to retain its domain relationship (for remote user authentication).
When I connect the remote BDC over the PPTP VPN to the ISA server I get a duplicate name error on the BDC with the following from nbtstat -n,

RemoteBDC <00> unique conflict
MyDomain <00> group registered
MyDomain <1c> group registered
RemoteBDC <20> unique conflict
MyDomain <1E> group registered
RemoteBDC <03> unique conflict
RemoteBDC <06> unique registered

Please, any suggestions.

thanks

Hi Pal,

Is this is a multihomed DC or WINS server? Both are well known for creating problems and I avoid such configurations at any cost [Smile]

HTH,

No, unfortunately the remote BDC isn't multihomed. It is just a single interface authentication server (it does provide WINS service). The best I can figure is to rebuild the system (removing it from WINS repl) and rejoin the domain (thru the FW).
