ISA seems to be my topic this month. We tried to install message screening on ISA and *somehow* it blew away ISA. We had a backup file of settings and re-installed ISA, but there was some mismatch that disallowed a restore that we could not resolve. Is there any way to view the ISA settings on the backup file to enable them to be manually re-entered? While painful, it's better then discovering missing settings one by one. Any other ideas and suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks for all help provided.

Diane

Thanks Tom. I realize installing message screening on the ISA server is not an optimal configuration. However, we are trying to resolve some issues and work with limited resources at this site. Appreciate your pointers.

Hi Diane,

You can install the SMTP Message Screener on the firewall. The primary drawback is that it somewhat processor intensive, but less so if you install ISA Server 2000 Feature Pack 1.

Thanks again Tom. I am not familiar with the feature pack, but will investigate it.

Hi D,

Go to www.microsoft.com/isaserver and they have some info on it on the first page.

Thanks!
