I read the old thread about diablo ii, but I still can't seem to connect to the gateway. :-/

i've managed to get all my other games working, but I can't seem to figure out what's happenening w/ diabloii.

Would anyone be able to "spell it out" for me?

I have 1 definition, the TCP outbound to 6112, and secondary to 6112-6119 and a 2nd definition, UDP outbound to 4000.

From what I read, that should be enough to connect. I'm talking about closed realm play, not TCP/IP or open b.net.

yeah, i tried it w/ both client and SNAT, neither allow me to get a connection.

I wish I knew where to go further from here. :-/

Hi,
you're saying that you got all your other games to work. You don't then perhaps know how to make GameSpy Arcade work through ISA? This seems to be quite a mystery and I still haven't had any luck with it.

Well, I use Gamespy 3D.

All i did was set
definition #1: UDP:25635
definition #2: TCP:28900

After that, it's working well for me.

I haven't tried to get ASE working yet,tho. I'm gonna tackle that this week.

DUnno know if this would help at all but I did notice at home with my linksys gateway router that If my PC was connected to DiabloII in closed realm play then I could n't establish a PPTP VPN connection with my Laptop. That would imply either GRE47 is in conflict (unlikely), or that Blizzard is using som non-standard protocol to secure the realm connections that the linksys doesn't know how to route (more possible).

If the above is true then you may need to enable routing and and open those ports on the firewall rather than using a firewall client to essentially NAT you through. But then this is just theory based on 1 observation, best thing to do would be to sniff your machine when it tries to connect.

d2 is working fine behind isa.
i was in (on?) battle.net a few secs ago.
i did it dis way:

1.install d2 (full)
2.install latest d2 patch (1.09d i think)
3.install d2exp
4.install d2exp patch (1.09d)
5.install fw-client soft
6.ready

i dont need special protocol-defs, paketfilters or else (but the permission 2 go through the isa :-))
