Battle.net Connection through ISA - 3.Apr.2002 4:51:00 PM
Guest
How can I get Warcraft to work through my ISA server? I found this info:

What ports need to be open?
In order to connect to Battle.net and allow others to connect to you, using any Blizzard Entertainment game, the following ports need to be opened:
4000 UDP
4000 TCP
6112 up to 6119 UDP
6112 up to 6119 TCP
Some firewall programs have preset ports available in their configurations that are often necessary to be open. One in particular is a connection to your DNS server. This usually takes place on UDP port 53.

Any suggestion for configuration, I have packet filtering enabled and am running as a Firewall client and SNAT client.

Thanks,

Ben

What you have listed there should work. I've tested this in the past and it worked fine.

set up protocol definitions
1 udp port 6112 send/rec
2 udp port 6112 rec/send
3 tcp port 6112 inbound
4 tcp port 6112 outbound

create protocol rule using the definitions created above. I'm playing playing on bnet. I play starcraft. Good luck

Oh GOD so close.

I'm now loggin in and I can see a list of the games.
But, I cannot see the discussions on the left hand pane or when I log into a game it doesn't actually connect.
I have tried creating my own game as well but it also fails to connect. It looks like it's just missing a particular port or something.

Soooooo close I can taste it....

I don't know why but I read somewhere you can only have 1 connection on it although we have 7 people now on there and it works a treat.

I have all these defs in place but get this error message from Bnet. You are trying to logon to an invalid Bnet server or if you are using a modem, connect before trying to join a server??????
I'd like to meet the person who created that message, obviously has a good sense of humour.
Has anyone seen this before? or know of a fix.
help appreciated

if you can create a single protocol definition using the ports for battle.net you might be able to then use a server publishing rule.

Create a server publishing rule using the protcol definition you just created and using your client machine as the internal server.

or you might try..creating a protocol rule to allow all tcp, and use the firewall client.

you might just be able to use the firewall client without creating the protocol defintions.

some things to try.
