I too have got Gamespy working both from Gamespy 3D and the in game browser...
the 23000 range (according to the manual) is used for Gamespy on a lan so probably not needed here...
I have created to protocol definitions :- 1. BF1942(Game) UDP,S/R - 14567 2. BF1942 (Gamespy Servers) - TCP, OUtbound, 28900
As I said the Gamespy side works fine now, just working on the game actually connecting now...
Remember, be methodical in your approach, only modify one thing at a time, test it and note the results, also remember that ISA needs a minute or so to update itself (MS say to close the ISA console down for some changes to take effect).
Sorry if i couldnŠt make me too short in this msg. But iŠll hope that you have the patients to read it through.
Make a protocol definiton like this. First alter a name for the protocol definition, for an example BF 1942.
Then begin ,NOTE IMPORTANT, BEGIN with; 1. UDP PORT 14567 Receive Send <---This must be first, this IS the primary port to open! 2. UDP Port 14567 Send Recieve 3. UDP Port 14690 Receive Send 4. UDP Port 14690 Send Receive 5. UDP 23000-23009 Send Receive 6. UDP 23000-23009 Receive Send 7. TCP 28900 Outbound 8. TCP 28900 Inbound
Note! i did som research about wich port The BF 1942 server opened, and iŠve recogniced that it opened port 14690??? i donŠt know why....but i decided to include it in my protocol definition.
After You have done that you should publish your server ,Reverse Hosting, and you`ll do as follow:
1.Make a server publishing rule, called for an example BF 1942 .
2. Alter the IP-adress of your INTERNAL server ex. 192.168.0.10, or what you have.... At the same dialog box you`ll alter the IP-adress of the EXTERNAL Nic of your Firewall ,I.S.A- server,.E.g the public IP-Adress.
3. Then you must ,map/apply, this ,rule, to a specific protocol, and then you just take the scroll bar and look for your newly created protocol definition...and there youŠll find it ,BF 1942,.
4. And last you must fill in that rule must apply to ,any request,.
Voila....for safety restart your Web and FW services.
IŠll hope that it will work for you ISA geeks out there , at least iŠve got mine up and running like ever before.
Hello, i have problems too with games...I can't connect through ISA to Microsoft Zone. I want to play Bridge and my list with friends don't open. I've opened ports that Microsoft says: - 80 (HTTP, was open) - 443 (HTTPS, was open) - 6667 (IRC) - 28800-29100 (created and open)
