I have run into a little problem with this service that does not seem to be covered in Tom's book or in the Learning Zone. Both places discuss how to configure Netmeeting with the gatekeeper. Our problem is that we do not use Netmeeting - we have a Sony PCS-1600 machine connected to a tv set which contacts similar machines on the Internet directly. Our problem doesn't seem to be contacting other machines on the Internet, but that other machines cannot see our Sony because it uses an internal non-routable and publically non-publishable IP address. External calls from machines like this have to be routed or redirected to the internal address from the ISA server. Does the gatekeeper do this or do I have to set up new protocols in the protocol definitions section and use these to redirect incoming calls?

Hi phs,

Check out the H.323 material again. It shows how phone numbers are used to allow external callers to call internal network clients.

HTH,
Tom
