I am behind a firewall and ISA proxy. In Yahoo messanger, I am not able initiate my webcam meeting. It says that you ar ebehind a firewall. What changes are needed in proxy?

Once you create a rule to allow the Yahoo messenger through you should be able to chat and invite.

ports to open

Yahoo Messenger - Voice Chat 5000-5001 5000-5010 voice chat

Yahoo Messenger - messages 5050 messaging. NOTE: It will try ports 5050, 80, any port.

Yahoo Messenger Chat
IN TCP 5000 - 5001

Yahoo Messenger Phone
IN UDP 5055

etc if you do not come right let me know but this should do the trick.

Thanks. But Yahoo site says that webcam would not work if you behind a proxy?
I have tried opening TCP 5100 both inbound & outbound but doesnot work.
Please help.

connect yahoo as NO PROXY(its important coz without it WEB and Voice does,nt work)

Thanks Mr. Khan. I have done these port settings but I am not able to log on yahoo if setting is NO PROXY. Please advice.

try reinstalling Yahoo Messenger to different location.
and update u'r firewall client..

you must connect as No Proxy if u want to use WEB cam and Voice chat.

tried but no luck. Yahoo messenger doesn't log on with NO PROXY

Try opening a rule for that computer allowing the protocols out bound, then look at teh monitoring in ISA to see what protocols are being blcoked.

i am having this same problem broadcasting/receiving Cams.
Have tried opening several different ranges of port to use cams Itdoesn not work for me!
