ISA's outbound access control is based on protocol and site&content rules. Basically a client is granted/denied access to a service with a protocol rule and to a destination with a site&content rule. However, you cann't control for which destinations a client may use a particular protocol.

Therefore, I would like to see that the next version of ISA supports a more granular rule set. As with other corporate firewalls, it should be something like source (client set) -> destination (destination set) -> service (protocol set) -> action (allow/deny/redirect).

Thanks,
Stefaan

Hi Stefaan,

Excellent point. This is something a lot of people want to do. I hope to see this in the next version too.

Thanks!
Tom
