How about a SIP gateway so the MSN/XP Messenger client can do voice/video conversations on machines behind an ISA firewall?
-With XP messenger, voice/video works if the remote client initiates the call. If a local machine behind ISA initiates, the connection times out.
-With MSN messenger, voice/video doesn't work period.
As a small business, our company relies heavily on messenger's voice/video, whiteboard and remote assistance to support our customers. Its frustrating to know that we could have invested < $200 for a Lisksys router and personal firewall that works great these services. And it's even more painful when you find out MS's our "Enterprise" firewall doesn't support them.
Other than throwing out our investment in ISA, any work arounds, suggestions would be appreciated. Our clients use Messenger, Net Meeting isn't an option.
There has been no word at all on this issue, but even if I did know, I couldn't say. I'm making educated guesses. My guess right now is maybe next August or September, but it could easier be December. Your guess is as good as mine right now.
