I installed ISA2004 and everything seems to be ok, except the MSDE part. It has been installed, but it tells me it not connected. There is a KB article of it from Microsoft, but that doesn't help me. What can I do to get it working?
During installation of ISA 2004 the actual installation procedes correctly, and I even get an installation completed entry in event log, the setup procedure just continues to hang installing "additional components (the second step of the install procedure). Eventually I kill the process, and try rebooting server which it also refuses and I have to pull the plug. After reboot nothing works, and I have to reinstall ISA 2004.
An installation without MSDE (advanced logging) goes smoothly without any problemes and everything works (except the MSDE logging of course).
Anybody knows if it is possible to install the sql db to a different place than the default?
Same issue here. Just installed ISA 2004 on a clean install of Windows 2003 std server with only Microsoft patches installed and I get the \\not connected in the SQL Server service manager. I assume MSDE is running fine because logging is working but I would like to know how to fix this. Thanks.
