CyberAxe -> Need to have 2 external Internel Links? (5.Apr.2004 11:51:00 PM)

I need to have 2 external Internet links....

I have 2 diffrent ISP's and need to have some failover and loadbalancing....

How do I do this with a Windows 2k3 server and ISA 2004.

Hi Jeremy,

Check out RainConnect over at www.rainfinity.com.

I did and it looks good but I am waitting for them to get back to me, will this work with ISA 2004, and what is the cost range.

Hi Jeremy,

They have a beta version for ISA 2004 now. Not sure of the cost range yet, but I think its around 2k.

According to the ISA 2004 web site at Microsoft, the new version is capable of handling unlimited multiple networks and types (internal, external, DMZ) as opposed to ISA 2000 which can only handle a single internal, external and DMZ. So, why would you need to refer someone to a third party application to accomplish this?

I need to be able to do the same thing. That is, have 2 ISP's and ISA server will failover if a link goes down. Shouldn't I be able to configure this in ISA 2004 without this third party application? Can't you configure static routes and metrics to accomplish this without rainconnect?

Hi Adam,

Depends on what you're trying to accomplish. You can use a script to perform auto fail over and fail back for upstream routers, but RainConnect provides autofailover, autofailback, load balancing and bandwidth aggregation. What the point of have multiple links and letting one site idle most of the time?

please clear me out of this.... doesn't rainconnect require you to have two ISA servers inorder to use their applicaion ??

i have the same issue, two internet connections, one ISA2004 server, requiring a fault-tolerent/ load balanced for the two connections, on this ISA2004 server.

Thanks [Wink]
