qwiksilver96 -> Throughput problem (5.Nov.2004 2:01:00 PM)

I'm running ISA Server 2004. Not using the web proxy piece for clients, but am using the firewall. Everything seems to be working properly except for the fact that clients get poor throughput. When I go to the ISA server and go to my ISP's speedtest website (I'm on DSL) I get an average of 2.8Mbps down and 320Kbps up which is fairly close to the line's rating. When I go to ANY client going thru the firewall, I get anywhere from 250Kbps to 450Kbps and 320Kbps up. What gives? Is there a bandwidth throttle feature somewhere that I'm missing? It seems odd that my d/l and u/l data rate are approximately equal on the clients.

Thanks,

Hi Frank,

Not noticed this on my cable, DSL or T1 connections. Might be an issue with your broadband router or some other layer 1/2 issue.

HTH,
Tom

Hi.

We got a similar throughput problem using ISA server 2004(4Mb leased line connection). Our installation was on new hardware and i have also tried switching off the caching - no luck. Our old firewall never had this problem.

Any additional ideas?

Thanks
