I want to implement RSA SecureID to authenticate users before accessing their mail via OWA.

When a user authenticates with RSA SecureID, does he still have to authenticate to AD before accessig his mail?
Or is it suffuicient to authenticate only agains RSA?

The user must authenticate with the RSA server and then with AD for OWA to work properly. If the RSA authentication is successful, the user will be prompted again to logon (this is to auth. with AD to gain access to the Exchange MB). RSA's latest Web Agent (v5.3) supports single sign-on (SSO). There is quite a bit of configuration involved, and some security concerns, but it does work. The AD username and RSA userid must be the same. Basically, after the RSA auth., it uses the RSA userid to anonymously connect to the mailbox. There are complete instructions on the RSA website for this if you are interested. HTH.

Also, you must be running Exchange 2003 and Windows 2003 AD in native mode.
