Hi, we have a ISA box, and a box with SBS 2003. I installed Virtual Server on the ISA and a "virtual" Win2003 Server, promoted as a Backup Domain Controller, with DNS and WINS installed on it. I use a split DNS as in the tutorials. The idea is, to enable the ISA to verify VPN users in the domain, when SBS is offline. VPN works fine, as long as the SBS is online. However, when I take it offline, to use the BDC, user authentification does not work.  Any ideas??? Actually, how is it with DHCP. Once the SBS is offline, there is no DHCP server anymore. Can this be the problem? Can/should I split the numbers to two DHCP servers: SBS 192.168.16.1-100 and ISA from 101 to 255 ?? Dieter

Hi D,

Interesting setup. I have it working on a VM workstation install on an ISA firewall, but I don't know about Virtual Server. I suspect its a configuration issue or just doesn't work with Virtual Server. Give VMware workstation try using the same config, and if you have problems, I'll probably be able to troubleshoot them for you.

HTH,
Tom

Thanks Tom,

I'll try it this week. What do you think about the DHCP?

Regards,
Dieter
