I want to have an ISA server and SurfControl on one of our EXTERNAL IP addresses. Then I want to have workstations that live in our building, but use a different network to point their browsers to that IP address for SurfControl. When I have tried this, the SurfControl works with access denied, but the websites that should be available return a 10061 (Connection refused) error. The workstations use one gateway; the caching (one NIC) ISA uses another. Do I need to set up a static route on the ISA for this to work? Do I need to set up the ISA with two NICs? I am at a loss with how to make this work--any help would be appreciated.

Hi Bobby,

Do you have a network diagram with the request/response paths?

Thanks!
Tom

Hi Tom,

Do not see where to attach a diagram file, and do not have a sniffer employed. Essentially it is as follows:

              xxx.xxx.xxx.25        26         27             28           29
gateway       firewall     mail filter    helpdesk       ISA

                                  UNMANAGED SWITCH

                                     7204 ROUTER

All our outside appliances are working fine, but the ISA is the problem. I set it's gateway to 25. Maybe I need to set the gateway to the border router of our ISP. Also, should I define the internal network as only our xxx.xxx.xxx.25\248 range? I hope this is some clarification. Thanks.
