thanks for the reply...

now that my issue is fixed, do you really think i need to go fooling with the registry? do you think this issue will roll over to something else if i dont adjust the MTU's?

just being cautious as i spent two weeks running in circles trying to fix this..and im really not into creating another problem :)

Well... I would not categorize that as "fool'n with the registry".  The performance gains of enabling PMTUDiscovery IMHO, far outweigh the small risk of a DoS attack that disabling it mitigates.
