besinvestimento -> Proxy Time out (11.Jan.2006 3:08:32 PM)

Hi guys,
Here is the deal: We have a W2k3 + ISA2k4 box acting as a Proxy server, but some https pages return me this message:

Error Code: 504 Proxy Timeout. The connection timed out. For more information about this event, see ISA Server Help. (10060)

When I try to access the same site from my DMZ, the page is displayed correctly. Is there something that I maybe missing?
Thanx in advance.

Hi!
Did you solve this issue? I have the same problem (same scenario) here. It would be too bad not to have a solution for this because one of the sites which ISA Server can not reach is a site that every citizen in the hole country should be able to (it has to do with social health care and government and cards with certificates on it). It is very important that offices which work for the government can reach this site. If not there would be only a couple of ISA servers be use as proxy [:(]

Hi there, have same issue at a particular client:
Error Code: 504 Proxy Timeout. The connection timed out. For more information about this event, see ISA Server Help. (10060)

Found interesting data on the matter like:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;191143
but I am not sure if this applies to the ISA implementation?

I realise that the bandwidth is Sout Africa may not be that great to the rest of the world, but this time out only applies to the few sites, one in particular:
www.closefund.net
Sites like www.apple.com work just fine.

Have seen other usful info on the 'EnablePMTUDiscovery' reg key which should apparently be helpful on URL time out:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315669
Even though here (and elsewhere on the MS site) MS claim that the 0 value (i.e. false) is far better suited
http://foureleven.org/pub/bhami/
and even reference made here at the ISAServer.org site:
http://forums.isaserver.org/m_2002004333/tm.htm

But still a speed issue:
Did either 'besinvestimento' or 'meister' actually resolve this issue, or perhaps have any further suggestions, as I see that all posts were over a year ago?

Thanks kindly
