I'm setting up a new ISA 2004 EE server (a Proliant DL360) that has dual integrated NICs. My question: do I "lose" anything by using the dual integrated NIC as:

>> integrated NIC port 1 - External
>> integrated NIC port 2 - internal

As opposed to adding a 2nd NIC and doing this:

>> integrated NIC port 1 - External
>> integrated NIC port 2 - not used
>> NIC card - port 1 Internal
>> NIC card - port 2 not used

Also, should "teaming" be avoided?

No reason not to use the onboard NIC's on their own as per your first idea. No reason to add more NIC's unless you want to team them or add additional ISA networks for a DMZ or other ISA networks.

I have been told that teaming and ISA EE NLB should work together, but on two occasions now I have been unable to get this to work properly on HP kit. May just be me
