Hello,

Hope someone can help me here, I'm using a Network Engines 6400 ISA 2004 SP1 appliance, and this has been working ok for some time, however for some reason it has stopped us being able to add users to any ACLs.  When clicking on the "Windows users or groups menu item" we receive 2 error messages which are described below.

"The program cannot open the required dialog box because it cannot determine whether the computer names "<isa server name>" is joined to a domain"

Clicking the Close button, brings up the second error:

"ISA Server cannot load the property page."
Error: 0x800706ba
The RPC server is unavailable.

Now I know its not an issue with the applicance as it works on it, its just from our own machines where it doesnt work, I've checked the rules and out machines are given access. 

I've disconnected from the domain and joined a work group and re-joined the domain without any luck, anyone have any ideas?

Hi Marcus,

Sounds like the DNS settings on the ISA firewall's interfaces may be incorrect?

You didn't put an external DNS server address on an ISA firewall network interface?

Hello,

No, I only have internal DNS servers listed on the network interface.  Do you have any other suggestions?
