I am running FTP with only one nic (Caching mode) and I am able to FTP using a IE6 window but when I try and use a command window it gives me a "Connection refused"

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi Stryder,

if you have a unihomed ISA server installation than only FTP through HTTP is supported!

So just to be clear.

There is no way to make the command line FTP work if you use ISA unihomed?

We have a Cisco Pix as our firewall and ISA only as a caching and web surfing monitor (Surfcontrol).

This would mean eliminating ISA.

Thanks.

Hi Stryder,

an unihomed ISA server can only play the role of a Web Proxy server. Because a CERN compatible Web Proxy server only supports FTP downloads through HTTP and the fact that the command line FTP client can not act as an Web Proxy client, it will never work.

Why not use ISA as full blown firewall?

Stefaan

What part of "if you have a unihomed ISA server installation than only FTP through HTTP is supported" is unclear for you?

Why?  Why not just add another NIC?  I have PIX at the edge and two NICs in my ISA and can FTP with no problem.
