I'm trying to optimize the performance of my ISA 2004 server. What is the best practice for configuring virus software on an server hosting ISA 2004? Should the cache.dir directory be excluded from on-access scanning? What are the possible implications of excluding this directory?

Thanks for you help.

Current thinking is that the ISA server being a closed system, does not need virus protection.  If you are bound by corporate policy to include virus protection, you should exclude the cachedir, the MSDE (Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server), and the Program Files\Microsoft ISA Server folder.
