I have an issue with Temporary Internet Files eating up disk space.  Actually, it's not the disk space that's the problem, it's the backup tape space; these files constitute a large part of many users' network profiles.

There's a group policy setting "Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed" that I'm considering implementing in order to reduce the space that the user profiles take up and therefore the amount of data I need to backup.

It strikes me that by (a) having broadband Internet access and (b) a proxy with cache, my users shouldn't notice much, if any, decrease in performance.

Has anyone who has implemented this policy experienced any degradation in performance?
