All,

I need help in setting up an access rule to block all streaming music requests.  I have created a deny rule using the protocols under the Streaming Media Protocol Set but it doesn't seem to work.  I can't block http because I need internet access.  It appears that most of the music requests use the http protocol.  What can I do to block Internet music?

Thanks,

Ken

Try a third party filter like SurfControl.

i use a combination of rule to block streaming and it works for me.

1- block protocols under the Streaming Media Protocol Set ( of course except HTTP )
2- block by Content Type
3- block by extension, as shown below

Hi,

I have noticed that I can't see audio streams in the ISA logs. I'll try your strategy for blocking the extensions, but that doesn't explain why I can't see the session between the audio source and the client on the inside of my firewall. I've tried logging ALL traffic, and I still don't see it...

Any ideas why?

Thanks,
Oliver

Hi,

wouldn't blocking extensions also block users who want to download certain files? e.g. users may want to download small wmv files. I also discovered that if I select Content Types then certain sites wont open or don't display correctly. e.g trying to log into Yahoo mail will not work.

Thanks.
