I have some ISA 2004 machines installed in single NIC mode. However, I cannot ping none of those boxes or use the the SMTP alert email functionality to our internal SMTP server.
I have edited the system policy to allow ICMP and put the ISA machines in the remote Management groups but still it is failing. The HTTP get connectivity verifiers fail as well. Does single NIC mode not support server to server communication or SMTP relay ?

Thanks for any help.

Hi J,

Why single NIC (HORK MODE)? Why not fully deploy the ISA firewall?

Thanks for responding. We are a school district with locations at remote sites all connected to a main Central Office by point to point T-1 lines.
Our Current ISA boxes only have 1 NIC card at each school. In addition, the Central Office is behind another Firewall which is not an ISA server.
Am I wrong in going with single NIC mode to improve network performance at each school and the CO ?

Thanks for your time.
