Most firewalls support static NAT. In the current version of ISA Server 2004 and unfortunaly also ISA Server 2006 you can only NAT behind the default/primary IP Address.
For example: you should be able to publish two mailservers to the internet wich each server has it's own public IP Address. The only option you have now is to create a perimeter network with public IP Addresses and enable 1:1 routing between your internet netwerk and the perimeter network. Then put your (seperate) mailservers into this DMZ, enable relaying.
Optional would be to the feature tot static NAT a specific subnet/range.
I hope the ISA Server development team puts this into the next Service Pack.
Hello, This does not seem to have changed, either in ISA 2006 SP1 or in TMG. And the third party add-ins I am aware of are only TCP capable (I need UDP as well). Any idea whether static NAT will come about anytime? Thanks
Thanks. OCS 2007 R2 supports a static NAT'd IP for single consolidated edge, and I wanted to take advantage of that, but it seems I won't be able to use ISA for that. I need to explore TMG further on this... or better, has anybody tried already? Thanks
