Hello guys,
I've got two questions;
#1: wanted to know if ISA 06 included any bandwidth management feature?
#2: if yes, I'm wondering if i've to setup a domain in windows server to apply
bandwidth management rules on clients ?

plus if anybody know a brief tutorial on how to setup ISA without any domain in windows 2003
please attach the URL.

Thanks alot
Reza

Hi RZ,

1. No, except for Diffserv for HTTP

2. What would domains have to do with this?

Thanks!
Tom

Thank you Tom,
Could you please write me in what sort of requirements we setup domain
beside ISA server ? I mean an integration of Domain server and ISA server is needed?

Reza

Hi Reza, (or Rıza ?)

Which 2003 server are you talking about ? The one that you install ISA onto or your domain controller ? You shouldn't make ISA's 2003 a domain controller if it is what you ask.

There isn't any integrated bandwidth management feature on ISA 2004 or 2006. You have to check the "3. party add-ons" topic to find out the right tool which suits you best among many of them.

Check their features to find out how they manage the bandwidth. There are different ways to achieve it. You could use domain client authentication or use IP based management and so on. Domain client authentication isn't the only way to manage the bandwidth with those tools (depending on your client IP configuration policy etc).
