Hi Everyone,

I found this post at Google Groups regarding using VPN IPSec with a Third
Party Router and Dynamic IP in one end. I don't understand very well how
this thing should be configured it. In the last post Thomas Shinder said
that its possible. Does anyone can explain this better?

Thanks a lot to everyone,

Regard,

Alex

Hi Robert,

You still need to configure the remote site on the ISA firewall, so that
access rules can be configured to control access between the networks.

You can register a domain name with dynamic DNS (i am using dyndns.org free of charge) and setup client dyndns on third party side. Central office will connect to branch office via domain name.

Good luck.

I was thinking to do that, but when I try to create the network it asks for the remote IP address, there is no place to put the domain name. Have you ever tried IPSec VPN?

I also have not try this solution, just only L2TP allow enter host name or IP. If you choose IPSec.. Third
Party ....then I think you have to manually change IP whenever restart router.

Have you ever tried L2TP or PPTP with third party routers?

I don't understand why is not possible.
