I have a standard ISA 2004 server setup (2 nics) as my network Firewall and Content Filter. My internal clients who are members of my AD domain (Win 2000 server) use the ISA firewall client to connect to the Internet.  They are authenticated via a separate domain controller and receive an IP from a separate DHCP server on my internal network.
How can I allow a client computer to have filtered (or for that matter unfiltered) internet access via ISA 2004 without joining my domain?  Also, wouldnít they need an IP address from somewhere and would it only be HTTP access or all protocols (since they wouldnít be using the ISA Proxy Client)?  Lastly, what are the security implications of only giving them internet access (I know the security implications of why I donít want them joining my domain).

What is an "ISA proxy client"?

Thanks!
Tom

Hi Mike,

You can mirror their user account on the ISA firewall and install the Firewall client on the non-domain member computer and that will work.

HTH,
Tom
