OK, I know people have been saying that ISA 2004/2006 doesn't support multiple external links (two adsl, ISDN, ATM etc.) because ISA only supports 'one' gateway. But...

So the rest is clear: Link-1 is a 2MB link, Link-2 is a 4MB link

Would it support multiple external links if Link-1 was for VPN (branch offices) traffic only, all other traffic (incoming and outgoing) went over the Link-2?

Hi D,

ISA doesn't support two default gateways. In your scenario, you already know the route you want to use so you can create routing table entries.

Tom

Tom,

First, thanks for responding.

I appologise in advance if I am missing what your saying, been long day. Are you saying that in the scenario I mentioned that it could be done or couldn't using ISA 2006?

Hi D,

Yes, since you know the interface and gateway to use to reach the destination VPN gateway, you don't need to use two default gateways, so it will work.

HTH,
Tom

Tom,

Glad to see that I can deploy 2006 and know I can accomplish what I need to.

So, any plans for a new book (2004 book was great)?

Tom,

Glad to hear the 2006 book is coming. Any chance of it having a blurb/chapter related to my scenario?

Hi D,

I hadn't thought about it, but it's a good scenario to include.
Will do!
Thanks!
Tom
