hi there

I am looking at upgrading our 2 ISA 2004 boxes to 2006.  I have looked through the message board here and found the link to the MS document http://www.microsoft.com/technet/isa/2006/deploy/upgrade.mspx .  At the moment we are using the ISA for Internet access and a number of firewall policies for various applications, we are not running any VPN or server/web publishing rules.

I have a couple of questions :-

1) I am planning on using the same hardware and was wondering if I export the 2004 configuration and then remove 2004, install 2006 and then import the 2004 configuration, is the way to go.  Or would it be better just to run the upgrade from 2004 to 2006?

2) by importing the 2004 configuration does it override any new 2006 settings?

any help would be appreciated

thanks

FJ

maybe it would be easier if u just uninstalled 2004 and installed 2006
this is true if u have the message screen installed and also the firewall client share on your ISA 2004 box.
if u want to run the in-place upgrade and u dont have the message screena and the firewall client share, then simply run the ISA 2006 Cd over the ISA 2004 .

import = adds to existing

restore = replace
