Hi all,

The objective is to setup ISA 2004 server on new hardware, configure it to use same IP addresses, hostname (if possible); and then copy over all the firewall rules, access list, and ISA 2000 configuration over to the new server.

Any idea/

Thanks in advance!

put your ISA 2004 CD into the ISA 2000 server, run the migration wizard from the cd menu.

then go to your new isa 2004 server, import the xml file that u exported using the migration wirzard.

Well I hope you have bettrer luck than I did on your migration.  I followed the procedures that Microsoft laid out for the migration and it blew up on me.  In fact in the book 'ISA Server 2004' by Dr. Tom Shinder, he recommends that you write down all you settings and perform a clean install because of the number of migration failures.  My ISA 2000 server was only configured as a proxy server so that may have had something to do with it.

Good Luck.

Dave

When I run the Wizard I get "Failed while exporting the Remote Access Service VPN site-to-site connections"  I need the VPN connections.  How can I get around this export?  Can I just stop the Routing and Remote Access for a few minutes while running this wizard?  Will I have an office disconnected from the world?
