Hi

Server: SBS 2003 Premium (with ISA 2004)
Client: WinXP Pro SP2 ISA 2004 Firewall client installed

Out of a network of 55 computers, I have 1 computer with access problems. The user has server admin rights & can access websites without probems. However she cannot use FTP or Messenger & these are being blocked by ISA although I have not set a rule to block these.

This problem affects one specific pc only. If the same user logs to another computer, then she can use everything fine. if another user logs to her computer, then the user cannot access Messenger or FTP.

This is a new computer & the same issue happened on the user's previous computer.

I have checked the SP2 Firewall settings & Messenger is allowed through.

Can anyone suggest what else I should look at please?

Setup a query in the monitoring window inside ISA to look specifically at that users IP address and find out what rule is blocking those specific actions.

Here is the result

Dest 192.168.16.2 (server)
Port 8080
Denied
Restricted group (an ISA policy that restricts access to certain sites - but not for this user)
Client 192.168.16.74 (the problem computer)
username annonymous
Source internal
Dest External
Http method POST
URL //gateway.message.hotmail.com (blocked in the restricted group)

I have manage to allow the user access to Messenger by setting a new policy just allowing Messenger access to all users whether of not authenticated.

It appears that this computer is not passing authentication details for some reason when accesing Messenger or FTP.
