Sunny.C -> OWA SSL-Error Code: 500 Internal Server Error (20.Dec.2006 11:57:56 PM)

Hey guys,

I got a little problem here.
I am able to access OWA SSL locally but when i try and goto it from external i get the following errors.

From External client pc:
"This certificate cannot be verified up to a trusted certification authority."
I get the before i attemp to log in.

I get this after i log in
From External client pc:
Error Code: 500 Internal Server Error. The target principal name is incorrect. (-2146893022)

Also get this in ISA Logs:
ISA Server could no establish a SSL connection with the published server 10.x.x.x on port 443 because the name on the SSL server certificate  used by the published server does not match the internal name .........

Where do you guys think the problem is???
I look around and it all seems right.

Thanks in advance.

Ok this is the first time i am actually configuring OWA SSL access, so my understanding of it is not the best.
I have seem to have fixed the problem by manually installing the certificate to the client pc and it works perfect.
Question.
1. Do you need to install the certificate to all client pcs?
2. How users access webmail from hotels without installing the certificate to pc's(hotel pc's)???

If you are using self signed certs, then yes, you will need to publish these to all clients.

If you are using a third party CA (verisign, etc), then you need to create the request and install the cert on the OWA server, then export the cert with the private key and install that on the ISA server(s). The assgin that cert to the listener on ISA.

hope this helps. Good luck.

Thanks

So if the users need to look at their emails on a computer other than their own company one, they will need to install the certificate????
This is dangerous is it not??? Also fair to difficult for users to do this...
What is they best and most secure way of doing this so that i can give the managers access on any pc when they travel.
