zamirl -> Initial reaction (16.Jan.2007 8:05:38 AM)

After too long of no ISA hands on, I installed the Microsoft ISA 2006 lab on my
laptop just to see what is going on.
As usual I follow the steps but with my quick tempering and tests.
I DID NOT READ TOMS ARTICLES YET SO DON'T BE HARSH TO JUDGE ME!

Since the lab is set up with a standard edition in a workgroup I faced the problem
when I started the publishing of the OWA services and then again with the RPC over HTTP.

It seems that unlike ISA 2004, there is no way to configure the listener for HTTP
authentication with Basic Authentication unless ISA can actually perform the authentication .... what the hell ???
If ISA is in a DMZ as a workgroup machine, you cannot use Windows authentication, then you must use LDAP / Radius.
We never have to do that with ISA 2004/2000. what if I want to perform this publishing with just opening SSL 443 between the ISA in the DMZ to the internal Exchange server (front or backend... thatever).  This is strange and takes much more time then it used to take for the connection to take place.

I'm going to read Toms articles soon and see if there is anything about it.
Anycase, I would love to read comments.

Hi Liran,

You can still use basic authentication on the Web listener. What exactly is the problem that you're having?
