ddejarnett -> BITS Caching (7.Feb.2007 3:39:09 PM)

My company would like to configure an ISA 2006 server in caching mode so that Microsoft Updates (BITS) are cached.  We have a bench where we prepare PCs and servers (by running updates) before delivering them to a client's site and we want to configure the PCs to go through this proxy server and pull updates from the cache rather than downloading each of the updates multiple times.

Is this configuration even possible?  I have an ISA 2006 server running now with the BITS caching turned on, but when I set PCs to go through the proxy server for updates, it doesn't appear to be downloading from the server and it still downloads over our T1 line.  Does it have to have the firewall client for this to work?

Also, the ISA server is not a member of our domain.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance,
David

P.S.  Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum.

u dont need ISA for such task. you need to get WSUS.
