@Taps:
No you may be thinking about the firewall log.  This is affecting the URL field in the proxy log.

@ClintD: we do not do reverse name lookups in LogHostname; we only do forward ones (which are near-zero cost since ISA already has to do that lookup to make the connection).  Also we cache the results.

Honestly if you guys have questions about LHN just ask at the vendor's site.. there's a support system and everything.  I don't always see threads here!

Also if I talk about products too much on this forum then they get pissy and suspend my account <_<

Well, i've used the Filter from ElMajdal site and i installed it on my ISA Servers , i have 2 sites , one with 2004 and the new one with 2006.

I Installed the filter on both sites, and i believe ElMajdal should change the readme file to say : ISA 2006 Tested and works fine instead of
quote:

ISA 2006 - not tested. Must be compatible.

Thanks Elmajdal, the filter does exactly the job. And i really wont go and buy a software and there is one that just do the job for free

and regarding the support,  the filter has a thread opened so ppl discuss it and how to use it.

Just to clarify, it's not doing the same thing, just something similar.  See Jim Harrison's and ClintD's post above for the distinctions.

Having said that, I still think it's neat that there's finally starting to be an open source community for ISA filters :)

Hi ITEngineer,

well , i would have done that long time ago, but i am not the developer of the filter and i wrote on my site exactly what the developed wrote in his read me file.

i will contact the developer and if he agrees, i would have no problem changing it to Tested .

Thanks for your follow up.

I think we are in short for such developers.

Having ppl develop their own code and share them with others would be something really greate ! such as Jason & Jim and lately by Sandy !

About ISA2006 "tested" status - I'm agree. Thanks to all. It's not so often happens pleasure - to make something simple but usefull for many people.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for this filter. I'm wondering that can we use this with Client HostName? I can't see netbios names of the clients. My clients don't use the isa firewall client.

Hi,

Only the IP address of the machine will be logged.

Check this blog : http://blogs.technet.com/isablog/archive/2006/08/21/Jim-Harrison.aspx

Is it useful to convert Client IPs to Host names? Can this be done?
Thanks!
