IPSEC VPN on ISA 2006 issue - 18.Apr.2007 1:19:21 PM

I have a new ISA2006 system setup to perform both PPTP and L2tp VPN.

If the ISA 2006 system is connected directly to the Internet on NIC 1 and the Internal Network on NIC2 it works fine for both VPN types.

If I have the edge router/firewall in front of ISA- I cannot get the L2TP to work with a NAT- even when the edge router/firewall allows all traffic through.

The edge router/firewall is a SonicWall system- and all VPN services on this device are disabled.

The network will not allow the ISA server to be directly connected to the Internet as the edge router/firewall is a 2 firewall redundant system- but for our testing we have dummed it down to a single system.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me to lead me to a workable solution or to a different forum where this question may be answered- please?
