hi guys,

verry verry late - i know and i'm sorry.
but now i've tested it.

here the results summary:

original configuration:

many VPN Clients (Microsoft L2TP-IPSec, EAP User Authentification) ---> goes through one ---> NAT-Device ---> Internet ---> to one VPN Server (Microsoft ISA 2004 SP2 on Windows 2003 Server SP1 with official IP - means no NAT on Server side)

Error/Problem with this original configuration: only one client can connect simultaneously (see above in this forumthreat)

what i've been done:

I installed SP2 for Windows 2003!
(after this step the problem was solved)

further i installed SP3 for ISA2004 and some other updates but this have no effect to the problem

i've tested up to five clients simultaneously connected, diconnected some, then connect them, and played around with connecting/disconnecting -
NEVER got a connection error like before.

so because the help from justmee and stefaan finaly my VPN Network rocks!
guys, i'm sill verry impressed that you spend time for my problem.

Hi everyone:

I just wanted to mention that I had this exact problem several months ago with ISA 2006.  I worked every angle I could think of and never could get it resolved and was about to abandon the L2TP VPN solution altogether because of this issue.  I'll give SP2 a try and see what happens...I'll be more than thrilled if it solves my problem!

I am having a similar problem but i can not get any clients to logon using L2TP/IPSec.
I will update ISA 2006 running Server 2003 SP1 today and see if it resolves the problem.
Do i need to apply SP2 to the DC before i apply to ISA? Will it affect it in anyway?

hi sunny.c,

i don't know if your problem is the exacly same as my was,
'cause in my case the connection from ONE L2TP/IPSec Client was ok.

I think when your L2TP/IPsec didn't work under any circumstances SP2 won't do it. I think theres an other problem. (what errors you get ? on client side? server logs?) -> make new forum thread for your error ?

But however maybe SP2 solve your problem too.

... I have only installed SP2 on ISA not on DC (which is W2K with SP4)

we all are waiting for a reponse, even if you have luck :o)
